About your local pool experts
Shane and Deb became the franchise partners for Poolwerx Kardinya, Bull Creek and Leeming in December 2017. Five years later, in November 2022, they opened their first retail store in Bull Creek, and the business has grown rapidly ever since.
In October 2024, their son Bailey and his best mate Chris Ramsden bought into the business after working alongside them for around seven years, a proud moment for all of us. The team grew again in May 2025 when we took on Poolwerx Kingsley and Wanneroo.
Through every step, the long-lasting relationships we've built with our clients have been at the heart of what we do. We're a proud, passionate family business, and we look forward to continuing to service and support you and our local community.

Frequently Asked Questions
Keeping your pool healthy doesn't have to be complicated. We've answered some of the most common questions we hear from local pool owners, from cloudy and green water to filter care and pump run times, to help you keep your pool clean, clear and ready to swim.
-
Cloudy water usually means your water is out of balance, your filter needs attention, or your sanitiser isn't working properly.
-
A light green pool usually just needs a chlorine shock and algaecide. A dark green pool needs a heavy dose of chlorine and a flocculant. In both cases, getting your chlorine and pH levels right is important, so it's worth having your water tested to confirm the correct quantities.
-
Typically 12 to 18 months, depending on the amount of debris in your pool, how often it's used and how regularly the element is cleaned.
-
Cartridge filters should be cleaned every 2 to 4 weeks, and sand filters backwashed every 4 weeks.
-
Remove the cell from its housing and soak it in Clean-a-Cell or a solution of 1 part acid to 10 parts water until all the calcium has dissolved. Always add acid to water, not water to acid.
-
A strong chlorine smell doesn't always mean there's too much chlorine. It often means the chlorine has been used up killing bacteria, leaving behind combined chlorine (chloramines). This is common when a pool cover has been left on for a long time.
-
It depends on your pool type, size, debris and how hands-on you want to be. Suction cleaners are set-and-forget and ideal for dust, sand and small leaves. Robotic cleaners map your pool for a more systematic clean and handle large debris and the waterline better, but need to be removed from the pool after use.
-
Simple. Every 3 months.
-
It depends on your pool size, as you're aiming for at least 1.5 full turnovers of water a day. As a general guide, that's around 4 hours in winter and 8 hours in summer.
-
Sand media typically lasts 6 to 8 years, while glass media lasts 8 to 10 years and filters to a finer level.
